AR.RY
__ ABOUT AR.RY
The artist collective AR.RY was founded in 2015 by Ralf Bernsdorff and Katrin Bernsdorff. The German-born artists live and work in Berlin.
Their stages of work evolved from a philosophical approach examining the patterns of interactions to a visual expression of those findings in fine art. Based on this conjunction, they explore different aspects of interactions through various themes, identify the patterns, and translate the results of their discoveries into photographs, words, and design. Water is one of the themes they examine with voracious fascination.
"As artists we are interested in exploring the paragon of nature that we are surrounded by in our day to day lives. It can be the constellation of clouds, a fountain with elemental water, or the river that shapes it’s way through town like a vain of life. Most of it goes by unrecognized in our busy lifestyle. We want to bring awareness to the elemental beauty we are surrounded by."
The collective's artistic background is in photography, digital art and writing. The springboard of whatever they create is their background in contextual work. By synthesizing their individual styles they have developed their own style as a collective.
