Environment

art x nature:
Supporting environmental
initiatives
to preserve and restore nature

With each artwork sale we donate parts of the proceeds to support environmental organizations and technologies. We focus on water as well as on trees, since trees play a vital part in the hydrologic cycle.

Therefore, with your purchase you not only obtain a beautiful work of art, you also help to restore and preserve nature.

As artists whose work is linked to the depiction of the elements of nature we experience the destruction and overconsumption of natural resources first hand. Some of the fountains we photographed in our series Element W don't exist any longer due to drouths and excessive agriculture. Nowadays pristine water has the notion of a dying species, although all of our lives depend on it.

We support the following initiatives:

_ WATER / OCEAN

5Gyres
The 5 Gyres Institute is a non-profit organization, initially co-founded by power couple Marcus Eriksen and Anna Cummins. 5Gyres focuses on primary research for cutting plastics pollution.

_ TREES / FOREST

Arbio
The stability of the rainforest is crucial to the worldwide eco-system and climate. The Peruvian non-profit organization Arbio was founded by a group of group of professionals committed to the conservation of the Amazon rainforest. They also focus on the preservation of so called mother trees. These trees are up to 1.000 years old and key to maintaining the biological diversity of the jungle.
